Arthritis Coffs Harbour

Coffs Arthritis is an associate of our main branch in Sydney and it is run by a small group of volunteers whose aim is to help people with all forms of arthritis and associated illnesses. We have 100-plus members. We have a Tai Chi class which has vacancies; a number of hydrotherapy classes are run at the hospital pool but unfortunately there is a waiting list. Meetings are held bi-monthly and social outings are organised often. We meet at the Coffs Village Centre on the first Tuesday of every month at 9:30am - 11:30am. Our fearless president is Dave Allen (not the comedian).

Australian Breastfeeding Association - Coffs Harbour/Sawtell Group

ABA is a voluntary, self help organisation that promotes and supports breastfeeding. Whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have weaned, you are welcome at the Australian Breastfeeding Association!

Coffs Harbour group holds regular gatherings that offer a relaxed and informal way to meet other mothers. There is always a breastfeeding counsellor present at meetings to answer breastfeeding questions.

Coffs Coast Deaf Community

The Deaf Community and friends meet each Wednesday.

AUSLAN is the official Australian Sign Language for deaf and hearing impaired people.

We have AUSLAN classes which anyone can come along to. Morning tea is provided.

Where: Boambee Community Hall, Bruce King Drive, Boambee East.

When:Every Wednesday

Start time: 10:00am Finish time 12:00pm
COSTS: $6 per class or $45 per term.

Coffs Coast Growers Market - held every Thursday in the City Centre, Harbour Drive from 8.00am till 3.30pm.

The Coffs Coast Growers’ Market provides the freshest in local and regional produce plus a growing range of organic produce. Regular items for sale include: fruit and vegetables, flowers, plants and herbs, cakes, honey, nuts, oils, eggs, wood-fired breads, wild seafood and more recently, meats and gourmet sausages.

Coffs Coast/Clarence CanDo Cancer Trust

Helping patients and families attending the North Coast Cancer Institute who are suffering financial hardship. We provide payments of up to $500 for fuel, food and household bills.

Coffs Harbour Anxiety Support Group

'Being anxious about going to a job interview is normal. Frequent worry not related to a specific event or stressful situation is not. Excessive fear, obsessive thinking, irritability, physical symptoms such as hot or cold flushes, a tightening of the chest, a racing heart or breathlessness; these are some of the signs experienced by people with anxiety. And this should not be accepted as anyone's "normal”.

Coffs Harbour Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Group

Support group for Consumers and Carers, family and friends of those suffering Mental Illness....ALL WELCOME
Meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at the Uniting Church Meeting room, Cnr Vernon and Gordon Sts, Coffs Harbour
11am start and morning tea is provided. Social Interaction, Support, Light Therapy, Laughter and Fun.

Coffs Harbour Stroke Recovery Club

A club where you can meet other Stroke Survivors, make new friends, go on outings, join activities, be informed and have a good cuppa. The club meets at the Coffs Harbour Community Village, 22 Earl Street, Coffs Harbour, from 10:00 am to 12 noon on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. I facilitate Woolgoolga Mental Health support group and have had some inquiries from consumers and carers (mental health) who live in the Coffs Harbour area. I am trying to establish whether it would be beneficial to start another mental health support group in the Coffs Harbour area and if there are enough people who think that this may be of benefit to them would they please contact me on 0408 065256. KOKORO KIDS

Provide a dance program utlising specifically developed education and teaching methods for children and young adults with Special Needs

Aim to increase fitness, coordination and muscle strength in participants, using music and dance as motivators, to decrease health risks.

Foster social opportunities and positive self-esteem in participants and their family members through weekly class engagement with peers from the Down Special Needs community.

Look Good...Feel Better

Look Good…Feel Better is a free community service that helps to improve the wellbeing and confidence of people undergoing treatment for any sort of cancer. We do this by providing free workshops for women, men and teens to help manage the appearance-related side-effects that may be caused by their treatment.

Look Good…Feel Better workshops support nearly 10,000 people every year, at more than 180 locations around Australia.
Our local Workshops are held at the North Coast Cancer Institute at Coffs Harbour Health Campus for ladies undergoing treatment for Cancer.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous is a non profit organisation designed to provide support for those who identify that drugs have caused problems in their lives.
We meet regularly to help each other stay clean.

Parkinsons Support Group

Parkinsons Support Group is an organisation which supports people with Parkinsons and their Carers and families.
We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the Month at the Sawtell RSL at 10.30am - 12.30pm , and all are welcome. The meetings are casual and friendly, and we usually have a guest speaker who talks for about 1/.2 an hour.
We also have social outings once a month.
Jane Gow is the co-ordinator and is always happy to help people with information

Suicide Bereavement Support Group

Lifeline North Coast’s Suicide Bereavement Support Group is held on the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month. The support group will be led by trained facilitators in the Lifeline offices, 6.30-8pm at 26 Gordon St, Coffs Harbour. The group is open to those 18 years and over who have lost someone to suicide.

Woolgoolga Mental Health Support Group

WOOLGOOLGA MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUP - Meets 10.30am on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
At: Community Hall, Boundary St, Woolgoolga (between Senior Citz and Bowling Club)
