Coffs Coast Deaf Community

The Deaf Community and friends meet each Wednesday.

AUSLAN is the official Australian Sign Language for deaf and hearing impaired people.

We have AUSLAN classes which anyone can come along to. Morning tea is provided.

Where: Boambee Community Hall, Bruce King Drive, Boambee East.

When:Every Wednesday

Start time: 10:00am Finish time 12:00pm
COSTS: $6 per class or $45 per term.

Eastern Dorrigo Community Group

Nestled in the mountains of Coffs Harbour's Hinterland, a 40 min. drive west of Coffs you will find the picturesque Eastern Dorrigo Plateau. Lowanna and Ulong are the two main villages with smaller surrounding villages making up the Eastern Dorrigo Plateau. The plateau was once a very busy logging and gold mining area. Today it is a much smaller community but it is still a great place to visit and and even better place to live.

The community group meets bi monthly and discusses all elements of living in the Eastern Dorrigo Community.

Nana Glen Sport, Recreation and Equestrian Centre

The Centre features a large picturesque sporting and recreational area at 75 Morrows Road Nana Glen. Polo Crosse fields, dressage arena, equestrian cross country course, undercover stables and cricket pitch are the main features together with a large kiosk, toilets, showers and storage sheds on site. This sports facility is home to competitions that attract local, regional, national and international competitors. The Nana Glen Sport, Recreation and Equestrian Centre Management Committee also care, control and manage the Nana Glen Tennis Courts.

Sawtell BMX Club

The Sawtell and District BMX Club located at Hulberts Road Toormina has been in existence for over 20 years. Riders from the age from 4 to 60 can come along and join BMX. The club this year resurfaced and reshaped the track. The track is used by the club and also the commmunity.

One of the age groups are the "Sprockets" a Sprocket Rocket membership is for any rider under the age of 8.

The Sprocket Rocket program is a participation based program, taking the focus from competition to skill based learning programs.
