Satire in the Time of War

It’s hard to imagine finding the ‘amusing’ side of war, however acclaimed World War One cartoonist Hal Eyre did just that with his highly regarded satirical cartoons. This rarely seen view of the War is now on show at The Bunker Cartoon Gallery in a display of Eyre’s work, drawn from the State Library of NSW collection.
The display features reproductions of 20 of his most comical cartoons which are both beautiful and enlightening illustrations of the debates and controversies of the time.

bcu Coffs TRI

The bcu Coffs TRI is a weekend of triathlons for the whole family from ages six and over.

The Standard Distance bcu Coffs Tri will take place on Sunday 4th March 2018. Competitors will enjoy a 1.5km ocean swim in the protected harbour; a 40km cycle on a flat closed course; finishing with a run around the picturesque Coffs Jetty Foreshores.

With its beautiful location and world-class course, the bcu Coffs Tri is one of the must do events on the national Triathlon calendar.

Beachside Radiology Coffs Ocean Swims

The Beachside Radiology Coffs Ocean Swims are a fun, charity fundraising event offering participants a choice of distances catering for both the novice and the more competitive with a 600m swim around the iconic jetty structure, 2000m swim across the harbour and fun races for children, all held inside our beautiful, protected harbour.

All profits from the event will be distributed to local charities and community groups.

COFFS HARBOUR RUNNING FESTIVAL

The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival is a community event for people of all ages and abilities and consists of a 21.1km Half Marathon, 10km Fun Run, 5km Fun Run and a 3km Family Fun Run/Walk.

Held on a bush trail on the Coffs Creek walkway, the flat, shady course is ideal for runners. The picturesque track hugs the beautiful Coffs Creek and competitors run over floating boardwalks, through swamp forests of mangrove, casuarina and paperbark trees from the centre of town to the coast and back.

Coffs Garden Club Outing

For our outing this month please meet at the Botanic Garden for a BYO morning tea. We can organise our carpooling then to travel to the Waste Management Facility, Englands Road, Coffs for a tour and talk which will commence at 11am. On completion of this tour we will make our way to Garden Mania, Lyndsay Road, Boambee where we are booked in for lunch at Ladybird's Cafe at 12:30. Wendy Morrison the Manager of Garden Mania will give us a talk on what's hot in the nursery at this time. Of course there will be plenty of time for some retail therapy before our return to the Botanic Garden.
